Co-founder and a Chief Scientific Officer at Captor Therapeutics
Michał J. Walczak, PhD, is a co-founder and a Chief Scientific Officer at Captor Therapeutics – a Swiss-Polish start-up located in Wrocław, Poland and Allschwil, Switzerland. MW is trained as a biophysicist and structural biologist at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH Zurich, PhD studies), Friedrich Miescher Institute of Biomedical Research in Basel (institute affiliated with University of Basel and Novartis Institutes of Biomedical Research, post-doctoral training), University of Virginia and University of Wroclaw (master studies). In his research MW has had a long lasting focus on understanding molecular interactions between proteins and small molecule therapeutics.
In 2017 MW co-founded Captor Therapeutics as a first in Europe and fifth in the world company that employs groundbreaking technology (targeted protein degradation, TPD) to develop novel medicines against unmet medical needs.
